Frequently Asked Questions
Questions we have been asked, or something you may be wondering about.

Q. Why have there been member changes?
A. Provision has always performed as many live parts as possible on stage,
and have constantly fought against the stigma that many synth bands face as
credible musicians who really perform "Live".
Provision's opposition of Synth bands who prefer to perform "Fake To DAT"
shows, has often caused controversy in online forums and open debates. But
no matter what other synth bands choose to do, Provision will always stand
behind the fact that it is a band in every since of the word.
People don't realize that it happens to almost every band. The Cure,
Information Society, Anything Box, and Psyche are just a few who have gone
through member changes while maintaining that they can continue on no
matter what happens.
A band is very much like a marriage, it is a relationship of Love, Trust,
Pleasure, and Pain. It takes a lot to keep a band together. Provision is a band
in every sence of the word, and will always be comprised of who is in it.
What each member contributes is his or her choice; and the amount of
input, creativity, and Live performance can only be determined by that
individual.
Q. Why did founding member Leslie Hyman leave Provision?
A. Leslie attended college while she was in Provision. She graduated in 2003
and is now a Surgical Technician at one of the best hospitals in the country.
As stated before, what each members contributes is his or her choice; and the
amount of input, creativity, and Live performance can only be determined by
that individual.
Her life goals and priorities changed since encouraging Breye to form the
band in 2000. Her current career and lifestyle demands no longer allow her to
be a part of the magic she helped create. The times we shared with her we'll
always treasure. Her bio page has been left here:
Leslie Bio as a tribute to her and her contribution to the band.
Q. Who is in Provision now?
A. Breye 7x, Jen Kiser, and Matt Willis.
Feel free to check out the Vision section to read each members current bio.
Q. Is Provision still signed to A Different Drum?
A. Provision did not actually sign to A Different Drum as in the form of signing
to a Major Record Label. Not a single band on A Different Drum, or "Insert any
Independent Label Name Here" _________ actually signs to any of those labels.
They simply get a Licensing Deal for an album and single releases or possible
multiple releases. And that is it.
A lot of bands just like to say “Oh I am signed to this label or whatever”.
But it’s a façade.
On any independent label there is little promotion unless you are very well
known and no Tour Support at all in the way of booking, product such as T-
Shirts and Stickers, Postcards, Buttons, Posters, Print Ads, Radio, or anything
else needed to really push a release to make it known.
In the Independent world, that's pretty much what you are. Independent.
So you better be prepared to work hard and promote yourself, because any
label is only going to do so much in the way of helping to get you noticed and
known.
Provision went with A Different Drum on their 2nd album Visualize, because it
was the best deal for where Provision was in their career at the time.
Are they unhappy with the decision. Not at all. Provision has nothing but
respect for A Different Drum and they have done a ton of work and helped
Provision to get where we are now. They carry Provision releases and support
us as Provision does them.
Q. What Label is Provision on?
A. In November of 2005 Provision signed with,
and Breye helped form the new label - Section 44 Records
with fellow synth acts - Tristraum & Eloquent.
Q. When Provision Tours and performs live, why don't they come to my city?
A. If we did not make it to a city near you on our last tour, or we haven't ever
made it close to you yet; we truly apologize.
In all honesty we don't get shows in many cities due to attitude, and statements
such as "No one knows you" or unless you are "this band" or "that band"
we're not interested".
While many established "bigger" bands are generally given more favorable
treatment, there are many talented "newer" electronic bands and bands who
may be known very well in certain states, but not as well known in other states
that need support.
It's this negative mentality that holds the American Scene down. Certain
promoters and even some of the Top D.J.’s out there still have this attitude
that only a few Top bands are worthy of being played in the club, or booked.
And until they can wake up to the fact that new bands are out there, the
American Scene will only suffer.
Shows that Provision has done in Houston, San Antonio, Louisville, D.C. and
many other cities to crowds ofhHundreds, are evidence that not only is
Provision known; but has only solidified Provision as a credible Synth act to
has to be seen "Live" to be appreciated. Just ask anyone who has seen us on
tour so far, and they'll tell you we are not to be missed.
If you are a promoter, fan, or booking agent that wants to get Provision to your
city...Please contact us!!! Don't be afraid to say hello, and that you demand
"Provision Live" where you live! You are the key to getting your city on our
next Tour.
